About
Independent cleaners, hired directly.
HelperHour is a free directory of independent, owner-operated house cleaners. Homeowners compare real prices and contact cleaners directly. Cleaners pay no lead fees and no commission.
Why independent cleaners
Most cleaning marketplaces send whoever is available, take a cut of each visit, or charge cleaners for every lead. Homeowners pay more, cleaners keep less, and the person in your home changes from week to week. HelperHour lists only people who run their own cleaning business and clean every home themselves.
How we review every profile
- The cleaner creates a profile with their real hourly rate.
- They confirm they personally clean every home and don't send employees or subcontractors.
- A person at HelperHour reviews the profile, usually by phone, and records how independence was confirmed before it goes live.
- Cleaners keep their prices and availability current. Each profile shows when it was last updated.
We mark a profile "Identity checked" only after confirming the cleaner's identity. HelperHour does not run background checks, so ask for references before you hire.
How HelperHour makes money
Homeowners never pay. Cleaners sign up free and get their first match free. After that, cleaners pay a flat $10 a month to keep receiving new requests. There are no lead fees and no commission, and we never touch the money you pay your cleaner.
Where we are
HelperHour is open to independent cleaners anywhere in the United States. Each city gets its own page as soon as its first cleaner is live.

No. HelperHour never processes payments and never charges cleaners a commission or lead fee. You pay your cleaner directly, the way you both agree.
What does independent or owner-operated mean?
